When Should I Add Keywords to My Articles?
The add keywords process involves identifying your best search terms, incorporating them into your content as often as possible in ways that won’t harm readability, and optimizing your article for those keywords. The end result is a piece of content that performs better in Google Search than a similar piece of non-optimized content would.
When should I add keywords?
There are many reasons to add keywords to your content. It can help improve your content’s topical relevance, get you ranked in Google Image Search, and help you rank in local searches. The best way to determine if adding keywords is right for you is to perform a keyword research audit.
In general, I recommend using your main keyword in the title and the first sentence of your content (though that can be hard for some articles). After that, try to incorporate it into the body of your article as much as possible. When incorporating the keyword into the body, try to use LSI keywords (other words or phrases that mean the same thing) instead of just the exact phrase.
It’s also a good idea to add your keyword to the ALT text field of each image in your content. This is important because it can be used by screen readers to describe the image to visually impaired users. However, be careful not to stuff the ALT text field with irrelevant keywords because that can hurt search engine rankings. Instead, add keywords that accurately describe the image to make it more searchable.
